Ometepe
Resolved Question: How wide are borders between countries (and states, provinces, etc)?
Are borders infinitely thin lines? Wikipedia says, “In the past many borders were not clearly defined lines, but were neutral zones [but have] been replaced by that of the clearly defined and demarcated border.” But when I travel between countries the border often seems to be more of a neutral zone between the “leaving some country” sign and the “welcome to the other country” sign. (Examples are between Argentina and Brazil near Iguazu Falls, btwn Costa Rica and Nicaragua going to Lake Ometepe, and others) Say I sprain my ankle exactly between those two signs, does somebody know what country I should tell my travel insurance I had the accident in?
